Charting a Course for the CA Profession in Alberta

A presentation by ICAA Council member Barth Bradley, CA on the ICAA’s strategic planning process

What are the priorities for the CA profession in Alberta over the next 5-10 years? How can the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta (ICAA) and Chartered Accountants Education Foundation of Alberta (CAEF) best respond to those priorities in the interests of the public and the profession?

The answers to those questions are helping to shape the ICAA’s and CAEF’s next three-year strategic plan – whether or not the proposed CA/CMA merger concept becomes reality. ICAA Council member Barth Bradley, CA will present on the ICAA’s current strategic-planning process and give participants a sneak preview of the Institute’s strategic priorities for 2012 and beyond. Barth will also speak to how the ICAA and CAEF strategies focus on its key roles of protecting the public, serving members, and advancing the CA brand in Alberta. As well, he will provide a brief update on merger discussions across Canada.

This session will be valuable to CAs interested in hearing about – and contributing to – the ICAA’s plans for fulfilling its mandate as effectively as possible over the next several years.
